San Antonio, TX – June 10, 2016 – The usual dry Central Texas summer has been hit with rain and it’s making allergies worse for Texans.
The rain can split pollen granules and cause smaller pollen particles to get into the air and bother us,"said Sunny Kallmer, physician assistant at Texan Allergy & Sinus Center. “Our mold count has been through the roof lately, due to all the rain and all the humidity.”
Texans are used to getting a break from their allergies in the summer heat, but that hasn’t been the case for 2016 due to the rain. This strange season of allergy misery is worse for a lot of people than the regular allergy season because they aren’t prepared.Antihistamines and nasal sprays can help get temporary relief from the symptoms, but immunotherapy through allergy drops are one of the few ways to build a long-lasting resistance.
