Austin, TX – January 8, 2017 – This cedar season is expected to stay a littlelonger than usual and last until the end of February. Allergy sufferers shouldstart stacking up their allergy medication because it’s going to be a longcouple months.
“There’s a lot of reasons whythis is happening and a big one is the cold snap we had a couple weeks ago,”Sunny Kallmer of Texan Allergy & Sinus Center said. “Cedar pollen istriggered to release from the cold weather, so that cold snap unleashed evenmore cedar than was already in the air.”
Everyone has a different level ofallergic reaction to cedar, but this year there’s so much that even those witha mild allergy will be feeling the effects.
