Dr. Murthy has been practicing Allergy and Immunology in Tucson since 1982, initially at Tucson Clinic, a multi- specialty group practice, and later at Thomas Davis clinic. Along with Dr. Makol he founded the Alvernon Allergy and Asthma practice in 1998.

Dr. Murthy was born in southern India. After graduating from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, India he completed internship at combined hospitals of Bangalore Medical College and two years of residency at Vanivilas hospital in Bangalore.
He moved to United States and completed a residency in pediatrics and fellowship in Allergy and clinical Immunology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.

Board certified in Pediatrics, he has been a member of American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology, American Medical Association, Arizona Allergy & Asthma Society and Tucson Allergy Society. Has served as president of Tucson Allergy society and Arizona Allergy & Asthma Society. Dr. Murthy sees patients of all ages but loves kids. He is an avid tennis player and great supporter of the Wildcat Basketball Program of the University of Arizona. GO CATS!!!
